Most of these pictures are of my family taken when we were all lot's
younger! Each time I visited Dad, I would bring home a few of his
pictures to scan and then return them on the next visit. I was able
to record and then return most of his photos in this manner. Some of the
pictures on this page were scanned when I first started using a scanner,
so they were scanned MANY times until I finally got it right! ;-)

This picture was
taken at Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary in 1974. It is
probably the only picture taken that has all of us in it. |
This was taken about 1940. |
Our house on McCoy Street |
A picture of the house on McCoy
Street taken in 1997. Someone was taking good care of it. |
This is Mom, baby Alvin, Dad,
Elmo Jr. (Bud) and Florence. It was taken about 1930. |

Sterling Jr., Floyd,
Irma, Florence, and Elmo Jr. (Bud) West. Sterling, Floyd and Irma
are the children of Sterling West, brother of Elmo West. |
A great picture of West cousins,
Elmo Jr., Irma, Sterling Jr., Alvin, and Florence. Taken about 1940
probably in Colorado. |
Alvin, Bud and Lady the cow. |
A truly adorable picture of my
sister Florence. She appears to be about five years old. |
This is a picture of my beautiful
sister, Florence. She was beautiful inside and out. She was my
"second mom". We all still miss her. |

Florence and her husband,
Clarence. This was probably their wedding photo. |
This is my other beautiful
sister. I love her very much. We have the best of times together
and have never had an argument. Well, there was the time I got
into her stuff and wore her swimsuit and when I used to play with the
stuffed bunny that her boyfriend gave her! But, she got over that years
ago!! |
Bud, Bonnie and Jim. It
looks like Bonnie was baking cakes even then. |
Gayle, Gary and I used to play
in a tent we made by hanging blankets over the clothesline. This
picture brings back some great memories! |

Gary was a pretty good sport to
have his picture taken with my dolls. Of course he did get to
dress up in his cowboy outfit. |
Cute little picture of Ron
Smith taken in 1954 |
This was taken about 1965. I
don't remember ever seeing her in jeans, or pants for that matter,
except this one time. She was on Bud's farm and apparently getting ready
to plow!! |
Taken when Dad retired from
Standard Oil in 1963 |
This picture was taken in
Collins about 1979 |

Gayle and Jim at their
wedding. Gayle is the daughter of my sister, Florence.

Clarence and his fishing
buddies. This photo originally appeared in the local newspaper. |
|
The two following pictures were taken in 1992. Dad took some family
members on a little tour of his old neighborhood. He found the land
where his family lived when his mother passed away and the house Alvin was
born in. Below each picture is the note he had written on the back of each
picture.

This picture was taken at a
family reunion about 1986. Charles is missing. Maybe he was
taking the picture. |
This is Dad celebrating his 96th
birthday with a pie! He wasn't much of a cake lover, but he enjoyed pie. |

Dad's sister,
Maurine, dressed up for the Santa-Cali-Gon in Independence. I would guess
it was taken about 1946. |
This is the note
Maurine wrote to Dad on the back of the picture. |
Dad's brother,
Sterling West, and his wife, Margrete. |
A wonderful picture
of four generations of West men. |
Dad with Jim and two
of his little ones. Jim lives out of state, but he brought his
family by to visit Mom and Dad as often as possible. |
|

|
This is also four
generations of West men. This one is Dad, Tom, Tim, and little
Charlie West. |

|
This is one of the last pictures taken of Dad. He was enjoying one
of his favorite pastimes.......sitting on the porch. This was taken in
Lees Summit at the apartment he shared with Marilyn. In Collins, during
the summer when the temperatures cooled down in the evening, he always
liked to sit on the porch or under a shade tree.
