In the spring of 1814 he married Mary Daniels, daughter of
Daniel Daniels and Catherine Clevenger, Bedford Co.,
Pennsylvania. Jacob and his brother Jeremiah married sisters
thus making their children double cousins. Jeremiah married
Catherine Daniels.
We see from the 1850-1870 census and the tax records for Belfast
Twp., that Jacob was a farmer. Jacob and Mary sold land to their
daughter, Sarah and son-in-law Adam Hess, on 13 August 1859. On
6 March 1860, they sold land to their son George and on 27
November 1865, sold land to their son Nelson. He wrote his will
on 16 December 1870 in Belfast Twp., Fulton Co., Pennsylvania.
He died on 2 October 1876 in Belfast Twp., Fulton Co.,
Pennsylvania, at age 84. His estate was probated on 10 November
1876 in McConnellsburg, Fulton Co., Pennsylvania.1876. Ten
children were born to Jacob and Mary.
Jacob died at 2 o’clock the afternoon of 2 October 1876 at
home in Belfast Twp., Fulton Co., PA. He left a will which was
proven on 10 November 1876.
